M&M, Kokolores Events — and a word that sounds like a rooster

The name

Ko·ko·lo·res

kɔ.koˈloːʁəs

The word “Kokolores” means something like “chatter” or “boasting”. It goes back to the outdated form “Kuckelöres” — an earlier variant of today’s “Kikeriki”, the German word for cock-a-doodle-doo.

That is why people say “Das ist Kokolores!” when someone puffs themselves up and shows off: exactly like a crowing rooster. That same attitude is in the podcast’s name — loud, a little over the top, and with a grin on its face.

In short: Kokolores is what is left when you take electronic music seriously and yourself not at all.
